Justin Gutmann – Class Representative
Mr Justin Gutmann has a wealth of experience working in consumer rights throughout his professional life, as well as having strong expertise in the mobile technology sector. A large part of his professional life has been dedicated to consumer welfare, public policy and market research.
His experience in this sector has included focussing on market dominance in both the handsets market and network providers’ market.
Mr Gutmann’s final job prior to retirement was as Head of Research and Insight at Citizens Advice. This followed his role as Head of Research and Insight at Consumer Focus, the UK’s statutory consumer champion.
With his passion for representing the welfare and rights of consumers, Mr Gutmann is representing all Class Members who acquired and used an iPhone affected by the performance and battery issues which are the subject of the claim. If successful, every member of the class may be entitled to compensation.

Mr Gutmann has instructed Charles Lyndon to represent him in the claim. Charles Lyndon is one of the UK’s leading consumer-focused litigation law firms and has extensive expertise in competition law. Charles Lyndon acted for the Class Representative in one of the first consumer class actions in the UK and has vast experience of the UK collective action regime. Charles Lyndon also has experience of acting in group actions in the High Court relating to the diesel emissions scandal.
